Meet OUR TRAINERS
Shelby Wheeler
Shelby discovered CrossFit as an extra fitness activity during her collegiate dancing years and has been hooked ever since. Her favorite movements are anything barbell related, especially cleans and squats of all kinds.
She has been coaching for over a year and half with her L1, among other certifications. She is in school currently studying to be an occupational therapist. She resides in Marion with her fiancé Aeian (who she had met early in her CrossFit journey) and their two fur babies Smokey and Cali.
The one thing you can count on Shelby for is being your biggest cheerleader/fan girl in all that you do! She is here for all of your overall improvement, reaching personal records, and building good technique! We greatly appreciate her here at S.I. Fitness as she manages it daily when the owners are away.
Mary Corn
Mary originally started CrossFit in December 2012, earned L1 in 2015 and L2 in 2019, weightlifting certified in 2017 and has been coaching since 2016. Her favorite movements are snatches & overhead squats. Her least favorite is the assault bike. Mary is addicted to CrossFit because she loves a challenge and loves the community support. She enjoys seeing the sun come up with the morning class but prefers to workout with the evening class.
Mary is originally from West Frankfort IL, and graduated SIU 1998. She has worked in social services since 2007 and is currently a caseworker for IL Dept of Human Services since 2014.
Her favorite pastime is any concert, theater or comedy show, preferably with her son Anthony, or any fitness-related community event.
Justin Walker
He has been CrossFitting for several years now and has been coaching for two with his CFL1. He “loves helping and watching people improve on their fitness journey/skill set.” Justin is always a positive, motivating role model at the gym - he’s always willing to help out when needed, on and off the clock.
Justin is also an avid outdoorsman and a proud dog dad to his fur baby, Porter, who he occasionally brings to the gym as he participates in class or coaches. As he often travels for work, he remains consistent with keeping CrossFit apart of his daily routine - as he travels he loves to drop-in to local gyms and to meet all kinds of new people and support businesses!
Holly Rudolph
Holly is a PTA. She specializes in women’s health, pregnancy and postpartum, and management of the older adult. She has been doing CrossFit for 14 years and has been coaching off and on. She enjoys and finds excitement in helping people move better, live longer, and remain independent.
When she isn’t working, she is spending time with her husband, Chase, hiking around their property, reading, or hanging out with friends and family.
You can catch her coaching our Longevity classes in the mornings! Join her for a free workout or talk to her about how she can help you in many other ways!
Chase Rudolph
Chase grew up here in Southern Illinois. He decided to start CrossFit around 10 years ago after he had a heart surgery to fix an arrhythmia. It was really life changing for him at that time, going from thinking he might not be able to do anything physical again to pushing his body to it’s limits shortly after!
Almost five years ago, he met his wife Holly at a local CrossFit competition and he says she continues to beat him daily at just about everything they do!
Outside of CrossFit, Chase owns Complete Family Eyecare. His weekends are usually spent running beagles or any other outdoor activity, enjoying free time with his wife, Holly, and friends.
Savannah Welch
We are proud to introduce you to this coach and our co-owner, Savannah Smith-Welch! Savannah has been doing CrossFit for almost 8 years now. She has certifications in both CrossFit and Nutrition. This all started out for her with a dream that a small town like McLeansboro, IL could support a CrossFit gym and it has exceeded her expectations! Since starting CrossFit HAMCO, she has now added Rend Lake Fitness and S.I. Fitness to that dream! She takes pride in the community that CrossFit has become.

Savannah came from a zero lifting/athlete background but quickly grew a passion for the sport. After the birth of her son, health and fitness started to become very important and she believes Fitness and Nutrition are equally as important. Leading our nutrition program and helping individuals is very rewarding. Her heart lies with the average individual who might think that CrossFit is a goal that they could never obtain. Coaching that kind of person and showing them how to utilize the sport of CrossFit to get in shape and gain a new-found confidence is what she loves the most!
